[Introduction]

The "History of the United States Army Forces in Korea" is a trilogy of history compiled by the Historical Section of the U.S. Military Government, which ruled South Korea for three years from 1945 to 1948, and translated into Korean by the National Institute of Korean History. HUSAFIK's manuscript is currently housed in the U.S. Army Military History Institute Archives, which describes the organization and activities of U.S. forces in South Korea that began in 1945 with the end of World War II.
